'The Sound of Belgium' warming-up

Boeremet has planned a “Special” for this Thursday, 11 September. “The Sound of Belgium Party” have chosen our Boeremet as location for a warming-up session in preparation of their up-coming big concert in “Palais 12”  (www.tsob.be). Apart from a large screen projection, some guest deejays will be present & playing as well, amongst which people like Jozef Devillé, Aktif, Eric Powa B (well-known Boccaccio).

This 100% Belgian New Beat rage was launched at the end of the eighties: a slow rhythm, heavy bass sounds and sexually explicit lyrics were typical, although there was a “no sex, no drugs”- movement as well. The influence of techno & acid house gradually grew to finally result into eurodance music.

New beat also got its inspiration from Electronic Body Music from bands such as Front 242, The Neon Judgement, Fad Gadget, Gary Numan,.... from the new age era. The new beat enabled the transition from new wave towards other electronic musical genres.

If you wanna dive into the eighties again, then your place to be on Thursday, 11 September, most certainly is at Abattoir’s. As it has become some kind of a habit at thematic evenings, we invite you once more to dress for the occasion and get out your quite typical new beat outfits and gadgets!

Your particular attention for the changed opening-hours!

As of 1 October 2014 till 31 March, our Boeremet will only be organized twice a month, each first and third Thursday.
